This past week my brother completed his chemotherapy treatments! After a celebratory luncheon I actually arrived home in time to see the Oprah Show! My schedule doesn't usually allow for me to watch her show and so it makes me happy when I actually get the opportunity to tune in! Anyway, one thing I always enjoy is seeing what Oprah is wearing... especially her shoes! I really love to accessorize, and the right shoes and purse can make any outfit shine! I've been thinking about a new coat for the winter. Lucky me, a friend forwarded a link to an interview with Michele Weston on Chicago's ABC7 News. In case you don't know, Michele Weston is a Curvy Style expert, fashion columnist, and author of Learning Curves: Living Your Life in Full and with Style. I had an awesome weekend! It was our
14th annual Mother-Daughter campout
at Pere Marquette State Park. This year's theme was the Wild West and I really dressed the part! I found a super selection of Western boots at Shoes.com and settled on a comfortable pair that didn't break my budget. Then I went to Alight.com and bought a pair of "Diamond Cowboy Jeans."

Well, I returned yesterday from my big shopping adventure in Chicago! My daughter got several new items for winter, but I mostly looked...and now I've made a decision about a new coat for winter! I can't wait to visit with my daughter this weekend in Chicago! We plan to shop and eat, shop and eat, and do some more shopping and eating! My oldest niece, Michelle (who is "thirtysomething") and my youngest niece, Ellie

It's been a busy year already! I've attended so many showers, weddings, graduations and birthday parties that I didn't think I'd have time for a real vacation. I just realized I need to update my summer warbrobe a little. I've recently had too many events or fun occasions without the right stuff. I really just need some basic pieces, you know a few nice new tops, perhaps a cute little summer skirt like this perfect for backyard barbeques and picnics. So, where did I go? Well, the internet of course. The only place I go for great bargains and wide selections!

I started and ended my search with a great sale at one of our favorite cool and hip sites, b & lu. If you've never visited b & lu, before you must at least check them out. At bandlu.com you'll find all kinds of cool trendy clothes in sizes 14-30. I love their cute skirts and tops and they definitely fall in the reasonably priced category! I also just happened to be perusing their website and found they had some great sale merchandise with items up to 75% off! Make sure to check them out!

Well, another weekend has come and gone and I spent a better part of this morning looking through the pictures I took from this weekend. Then, I thought, I should share my secret passion with you all and tell you about what I do after a weekend filled with more special occasion memories - I Shutterfly!

The right bag can make all the difference in an outfit! Just like new shoes can make you feel like you have a spring in your step (no pun intended...well, okay, maybe the pun was intended), so can the right bag make you feel pulled together. Everytime I have an awesome bag on my shoulder I feel like that scene in Jerry McGuire, I just want to look at the bag and tell it, "you complete me".

Walking into a room with a cute and trendy bag makes me feel strong and empowered even if the clothes I'm wearing that day aren't my favorite. It's kind of like the bag is my own personal self-confidence booster. There he or she (you pick the gender of your bag) is sitting on my arm and just whispering to me: "hey, you got it going on girl, you're smart, beautiful, trendy and you and I make a GREAT team!"....

Tueday Swimming Suit Blues Gone!

If you've got the swimming suit blues, don't fear - So What If is here! I've found some super cute and super slimming suits just for girls like us. I love a suit that will provide nice coverage, but without making me feel like I'm wearing something made for my grandmother's grandmother. I'm here to tell you - you don't have to feel like a great grandmother any longer!

Before I divulge some of my favorite online suit shops, I want to take an informal poll. What do you like in a swimsuit? Are you a one or two piece kind of gal? Do you like the boy shorts, traditional swimsuit bottoms or are you more of a skirt person. Let me know what you like and what you'd like to see!

Well, after much preparation and design, we've FINALLY launched our new look. Those of you loyal to sowhatif.com are probably a little shocked by the new look! We hope you find it cleaner and easier to navigate and hope that it proves to be a much better source of information for all of our lovely curvy ladies out there.

We will also be launching new forums for plus-size discussions as well as blogging about stories and things that happen to you, our customers.
